My God, how long does it take for laryngitis to set in? Because I could talk this morning, but by 2:30 I sounded like Kathleen Turner with bad cellphone reception. I haven't spoken for four hours. Can my larynx heal itself overnight?

It's not that. It's the fact that i can only have four unexcused absences in a year's time, and i've already had two. And I couldn't take today off because all the vacation slots were filled. Thankfully, my manager's been totally cool about the whole thing, and has been letting me off the hook all day. A doctor's just going to tell me not to talk, and to drink hot water and rest. It'll clear up by Monday.
